Group Class Descriptions:

lasses are held at the Wilson Veterinary Hospital, 24900 Highland Way, Los Gatos, CA 95033 -MapQuest Link-

Puppy Socialization Groups:

(For pups 8 to 24 weeks of age)
Experts agree that learning to play appropriately with other dogs is an integral part
of your pup's socialization process. The skills learned during puppy hood will be carried forward into adolescence and adulthood.
We will use this opportunity to introduce the pups to new experiences, such as children, bikes, skateboards, and many other life experiences that your pup may find “scary”.  In many cases  if puppies are not exposed to such things at a young age, under appropriate circumstances for learning, they will be fearful of new items and situations throughout their lifetime.
In this hour-long session pups will have ample opportunity to interact with each other and play together off-leash. In addition, instructors will supervise and make observations, as well as narrate the pup-play and lead discussions about understanding dog play.  We will wind down at the end of each session with some relaxation exercises and a question and answer period.
This is a drop-in class.  You may attend as often as you like.  (You must register before attending)
$15.00 per session or prepay for 4 sessions and pay only $50.00

Private Training: (For pups and dogs of all ages.  They are never too young or too old to start training!)
Private lessons are a great way to get started on some basic manners, to take your current training to the next level
or to get advice on specific training challenges you are having.  We typically work with you and your dog for an hour at a time
and can get through a great deal of training and information in a one hour session.
Private lessons can be held in your home, at my facility or at another predetermined location,
such as, a local park, etc.
Please call or
email to set up an appointment or for more information regarding private lessons.
$65.00 per hour

In-Home Boarding and Training: (For pups and dogs 12 weeks and up)
Puppies and dogs who participate in the Mountain-Pups Board and Train Program will spend intensive time training
with Lisa White. During this time, your puppy or dog will live as a part of the family.  It is this very special "family" living situation
that we feel sets us apart from most other board and train programs.  Lisa's family includes her husband, Mike,
her three children and various pets, including both dogs and cats.  We feel that our board and train program is a superior
way to jump-start a new training plan or as supplementation to your current one.  We can also address specific behavior issues
such as: jumping-up, barking, nipping, etc.
Dogs new to training will learn essential house manners and basic obedience commands, which include; crate training, coming when called,
sit, wait, off, go to place and leash manners.  For the dogs that are ready for more advanced training, we will tailor a specific plan to meet
the needs of the handler/dog team.  We understand that each dog is an individual and will customize our training to meet the needs of your dog.
including training offsite, as needed.

We can help your dog get off to a great start and then show you how to successfully continue the training process in your own home.
Your dedicated participation in the training process will be key to the ongoing success in the training of your puppy or dog.
Board and train is not a "quick-fix" and you should not choose this type of training plan with that expectation in mind.
There is little benefit to training a dog without training the owner as well.  With that in mind, we will schedule 2, one hour private
sessions to help your dog make a smooth transition back into your home.  The first session will be on the day your dog comes home and
the second approximately a week later.
Training is a lifelong process that requires commitment and follow-through, but it can also be a lot of fun for you and your dog!

$995.00 for a 2 week stay.  (2 weeks is the recommended minimum stay, however we also accept a daily rate of $100.  Many clients have found the daily board and train
program particularly useful for dogs who just need a "tune-up" while their people are out of town)

Behavior Consultations:
At Mountain-Pups Dog Training, we understand how dogs communicate.  Dogs relate to other
dogs, as well as humans, in terms of space and body language.  Humans usually communicate
verbally.  However, there are many times when we are sending other signals to our dog without
intending to or even knowing that we are doing so.  With our help in understanding these
signals, you will be able to communicate with your dog more effectively.

We can help you with: dog-dog aggression, dog-human aggression, separation anxiety,
fearfulness and many other common behavior problems such as, jumping-up, barking,
digging, biting, chewing, etc.
(Some aggression cases may be referred to a behaviorist)
